Agility Run-Throughs – Saturday April 20

This run-through day is being held to create a trial-like environment for agility teams to practice on a "standard" course. This is appropriate for young or green teams, teams that need to work through ring stress, or just want to try out some courses non-competitively. A trial-like environment is different than class because the ring will have a “judge,” ring crew, numbered courses, and timers, which you may not always use in class. There will also be “trial-like” energy which includes lots of dogs and people around, a different configuration of the club space, and a higher noise/energy level in the building.

Briefing at 9:15am

Dogs must be 15 months

3 runs held in three “rounds,” 1 run per dog per round. (You CANNOT run your dog more than once in the same round, but you can run more than one dog per round)

Nested Standard course numbered for both a beginner/novice course and an intermediate/excellent course. The same course will be used for all three rounds. The course will include all equipment.

50 dog cap per “round”

• Payment accepted through the website only.
• One entry per dog. If running more than one dog, you must submit separate entries.
• No refunds, but you can sell your runs to another competitor and email trainingdirector@y2k9s.net to inform Lynsey of the changes.

90 seconds per dog

Training in the ring is ENCOURAGED.

• You do not have to run the course as numbered.
• Can use food or toy.
• Toy can be thrown.
• Food delivered on target, in bowl, or from hand.
• Props can be used (on contacts, for instance).
• One assistant can come out to help during your run.
• Ring will have a “judge” and ring crew.

Timers will be used

• Runs will not be judged or scored. Times will not be recorded/scribed.

Round one walkthrough at 9:30am, Round 2 walkthrough starts around 11:30am, Round three walkthrough around 1:30
