Requirements: This is for dogs who have had some experience with parkour. However, it is not required that the behaviors are fluent to participate in a working spot. Anyone can audit and learn more about these behaviors, which can also be useful for other sports.
Description: One of the most fun behaviors in parkour is the Around behavior. Some of the variations we will work on include going around things that are further away, larger, wider, or very small. We will also practice going around something that is usually used for either 2 or 4 ft on and differentiating between Around and Through.
Tic tacs are one of the showiest moves in parkour. Tic tac is the parkour term for a rebound. Dogs that are old enough and ready to start a tic tac will get the chance. Dogs who have already started will get a chance to advance their skill level.
To do a tic tac a dog must be at least 18 months old and be able to handle the impact safely. For the dogs who should not do a typical tic tac, I will introduce a modified version. The full tic tac is not for every dog, but between the modified version or a corner tic tac, there is something for every dog to work on.
We will talk about requirements for getting a Novice title and how evaluations work. Bring your questions about the process. We will be scheduling some events soon where you can submit moves you have ready for evaluation.
Cost: $40 for members, $50 for non-members. Limit 8 working spots, unlimited auditing. $15 per auditor.
