Requirements: This is for dogs who have had some experience with parkour. However, it is not required that the behaviors are fluent to participate in a working spot. Anyone can audit and learn more about these behaviors, which can also be useful for other sports.
Description: Parkour has many elements and stimulus control is a big one. We want our dogs to understand which behavior we are looking for and to only offer that behavior. Because the obstacle is never the cue, it’s important that your dog understands your cues. It’s an essential element for both sequencing and creativity, which are at the heart of what parkour really is.
We will also focus on Unders. This is often a difficult behavior, especially when we are asking for a really low one or a long one. We will also work on crawling to facilitate this aspect of unders.
This workshop is for dogs who already have some experience with parkour, but they do not need to be fluent in all the behaviors. All dogs will work at their own skill level.
Cost: $50 for members, $60 for non-members. Limit 8 working spots, unlimited auditing. $15 per auditor. To audit, please email the registrar with your request.
