Preparation for Therapy Dog – Tuesday 8:15pm – Stacey Manzo

Preparation for Therapy Dog class focuses on those skills required to pass the Therapy Dog International test. Skills include sits and stays, recalls, and appropriate greetings. Emphasis will be placed on helping dogs to become comfortable when handled by strangers, in groups of people, with assistive equipment such as wheelchairs and walkers, and with unusual situations that might arise with a therapy visit. Tricks may also be taught as time allows.
Prerequisite: Basic Canine Manners and ability to work with other dogs in the environment.
